Working with our GIA Gemologist, Hamish Whiting, you'll discover our carefully curated collection of gemstones, including both modern and antique cut diamonds, colored sapphires from various origins, and other precious stones. We provide transparent pricing guidance and help you maximize value while achieving your desired aesthetic.

When choosing your ring, we'll also discuss practical considerations like your lifestyle and daily activities to ensure your ring is not just beautiful, but perfectly suited to your needs. Our experienced jewelry consultants are here to guide you through every step, helping you create or select a ring that tells your unique story.

Cushla Whiting offers a diverse range of engagement ring designs to suit different styles and preferences. Our collection includes classic solitaire designs featuring single stones in various setting styles, as well as more elaborate multi-stone rings including two-stone (toi et moi) and three-stone arrangements.

For those drawn to vintage aesthetics, our Art Deco-inspired pieces feature geometric patterns, step-cut stones, and intricate metalwork with milgrain details. We also offer contemporary asymmetric designs that showcase unique stone placements and artistic arrangements.

Our vintage-inspired collection celebrates historical design elements and traditional craftsmanship, often featuring antique diamonds. Through our bespoke process, any of these designs can be customized to create your perfect ring, combining elements that speak to your personal style.

At Cushla Whiting, we understand that selecting the right diamond cut is crucial for achieving your desired aesthetic. We offer two main categories of diamond cuts, each with distinct characteristics:

MODERN CUT DIAMONDS:

  • Round Brilliant: Maximum sparkle and traditional appeal
  • Emerald Cut: Elegant step-cut facets with a "hall of mirrors" effect
  • Oval: Elongated shape that can make fingers appear longer
  • Cushion: Soft corners with vintage charm
  • Pear: Unique teardrop shape
  • Asscher: Square step-cut with Art Deco appeal

ANTIQUE CUT DIAMONDS:

  • Old European Cut (circa 1890-1930): Round stones with larger facets
  • Old Mine Cut (circa 1700-1890): Cushion-shaped with romantic charm

Selecting the perfect gemstone is a journey of discovering what speaks to your personal style and values. At Cushla Whiting, we offer an extensive range of carefully curated stones. Our diamond collection includes modern cut diamonds for precise brilliance, antique cut diamonds for unique character, champagne diamonds for warm, natural color, and salt and pepper diamonds for distinctive appeal.

For those interested in colored gemstones, we specialize in sapphires from various origins, each with unique characteristics. Nigerian sapphires offer beautiful teal and green hues, Sri Lankan sapphires are famed for their Royal Blue and Cornflower Blue colors, Montana sapphires feature stunning oceanic teal blues and pastels, while Australian sapphires provide medium-toned blues and unique parti colors.

Our gemologist will guide you through understanding each stone's characteristics, durability, and ethical sourcing, ensuring you choose a gemstone that not only matches your aesthetic preferences but also suits your lifestyle and values.

Finding the correct ring size is essential for both comfort and security. At Cushla Whiting, we recommend having your finger professionally sized at our showroom for the most accurate measurement. This allows us to measure multiple times throughout the day, as fingers naturally fluctuate in size due to temperature and activity.

If you're planning a surprise proposal, consider borrowing a ring they currently wear on their ring finger or using our ring sizing guide. Remember that fingers can change size throughout the day and with temperature changes, so it's best to measure when the hand is at room temperature and later in the day.

For engagement rings, we offer one complimentary resize within two months of purchase. If selecting a size for a surprise proposal, we typically recommend erring slightly larger, as it's easier to size down than up.

Our bespoke engagement ring process begins with an initial consultation where we discuss your preferences and complete a pre-appointment questionnaire. This helps us understand your vision and guide you through exploring our collection for inspiration.

Working with our gemologist, you'll select the perfect stone, viewing options in natural light to ensure you're completely confident in your choice. We then move into design development, where you can choose between handmade or CAD/cast production methods. For CAD designs, you'll receive rendered images for approval before production begins.

Our standard production timeline is 8-10 weeks, with CAD designs taking approximately 10 working days for modeling and 6 weeks for production. Handmade pieces typically require 3-4 weeks for crafting and 2 weeks for setting. Throughout the process, each ring undergoes multiple stages of quality control, including final polish and inspection.

We maintain regular communication throughout the process and offer comprehensive aftercare services, including complimentary cleaning for life and warranty coverage. This ensures your ring remains as beautiful as the day you first received it.

We do not offer payment plans. For ready-to-ship pieces, full payment is required to secure the order. For bespoke pieces, we require a 50% deposit to commence production, with the remaining balance due upon completion.
