CUSTOM JEWELLERY FAQ
Custom jewellery at CUSHLA WHITING is completely bespoke, allowing you to create a unique piece that's personal to you. Our bespoke process lets you select from our extensive collection of hand-selected gemstones and create a design based on one or a combination of our signature pieces, or create something entirely new. Each piece is crafted specifically for you with careful attention to detail.
The standard production time for custom jewellery is approximately 8-10 weeks from the date of deposit. This includes:
1. CAD design stage: where we transform your design into a 3D file for printing and casting
2. Production and Crafting stage: Your ring is hand assembled by our jewellers with the utmost are care and attention to detail.
3. Setting and Finishing stage: Our experienced setters carefully set your selected gems into you ring. The ring is then given its finish and polish by our jewellers ensuring it is ready for the presentation moment!
We work with high quality precious metals for all our jewellery including:
- 18 karat yellow gold
- 18 karat rose gold
- 18 karat white gold
- Platinum
- We also work with 9 and 14 karat gold on occasion or by request.
Yes, our in-house GIA Gemologist, Hamish Whiting, can source specific gemstones to match your preferences. We have extensive connections with trusted suppliers worldwide and can source various diamonds and coloured gemstones. Once Hamish has found you the perfect stone we just require a 50% to secure it for you and begin the crafting process.
While we typically work with our own carefully curated collection of gemstones, please contact us to discuss your specific situation. Our primary focus is ensuring the quality and authenticity of all gems used in our pieces.
You'll be involved throughout the entire process. We begin with an initial consultation to discuss your preferences and vision. Our Design and Gemstone team will ensure your vision has been correctly interpreted before the crafting process begins and we will keep you updated throughout the creation process. We welcome your input at each stage of the process.
