Studio Assistant

Job Title: Studio Assistant
Hours: Permanent Full Time (38 hours per week)
Reporting To: Sales and Operations Manager

Cushla Whiting is a dynamic, contemporary fine jewellery brand located in Melbourne. Founded in 2013 by three siblings with a simple mission: to create a more personalised, unintimidating fine jewellery experience, with an underlying foundation of quality, care and transparency. Now, 10 years in, we are proud to be one of the fastest-growing fine jewellery design brands in Australia, offering the largest and most unique range of carefully selected diamonds and coloured gemstones in a beautiful, inspirational environment.

This is a varied role with plenty of customer interaction. It would suit someone with a love for  customer service in the fashion/luxury space, excellent communication skills and outstanding organisational skills.

Training will be provided for this role and on-going support provided.   The role requires working availability on a Tuesday to Saturday roster.

Key Responsibilities & Duties (include but not limited to): 

  • Responding to initial enquiries via email.
  • Answering the jewellery showroom phone, assisting with the enquiries and directing the calls.
  • Being the face of Cushla Whiting - the first point of contact to welcome customers into the showroom. 
  • Answering the door and receiving deliveries.
  • Booking appointments over the phone and assisting customers with our online booking system.
  • Setting up the showroom in the morning and packing it down in the evening (including daily stock checks and counts). 
  • Maintaining the aesthetic in the showroom, including visual merchandising of the stock, making sure the glass is cleaned and the showroom organised for appointments.
  • Taking payments over the phone.
  • Organising all DHL shipment inwards and outwards for customers.
  • Packaging up jewellery for collection.
  • Fine jewellery sales when the opportunity arises.
  • Setting up Q Report jewellery insurance for our customers.
  • Collecting castings and other miscellaneous errands as required.
  • Keeping office and packaging supplied stocked, and forecasting replenishment.
  • Managing appointment bookings via Calendar software and online booking systems.
  • Additional Ad-hoc duties as and when required

Our Ideal Candidate: 

  • A proactive customer service super star with an interest in fine jewellery and experience in creative workspaces.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Outstanding organisational skills, attention to detail and time management.
  • Excellent work ethic, self-motivated with a “can do” attitude.
  • Proficient with Apple computers and online applications.
  • Previous Retail experience is preferred but not essential. 
  • Someone who will ‘own’ the front of house space and become the welcoming face of Cushla Whiting.
