OPTION 1

Measuring Your Current Ring

  1. Select a ring that properly fits the ring finger you, or your partner wishes to wear the new ring on.
  2. Place the ring over the circles, matching the *inside* edge of the ring to the circle nearest in size.
  3. Use our RING SIZE CHART to convert your diameter measurement into the correct ring size.

OPTION 2

VISIT A JEWELLER

For the most accurate measurement, we recommend you visit your local jewellery and request to have your finger sized using their ring sizer:

  1. Ask for both your ring size and the internal diameter measurement in millimeters.
  2. Let them know you're measuring for an engagement ring to ensure they use an appropriate width sizer.
  3. This measurement will give you your finger circumference. Use it to find your size using our RING SIZE CHART below.

Measuring Notes: Tips from our expert Jewellers

Our expert jewellers have gathered some invaluable tips to help you measure ring size accurately:

  1. Measure at the end of the day when fingers are at their largest due to natural swelling.
  2. Take multiple measurements over a few days to account for temperature fluctuations.
  3. Consider the width of the band – wider bands often require a slightly larger size.
  4. If between sizes, opt for the larger size for comfort.
  5. Remember, the dominant hand is usually slightly larger.

For those planning a surprise proposal, here's a sneaky tip: "borrow" a ring your partner already wears (preferably on the ring finger) and use our printable ring sizer to match it. Just be sure to return it before they notice it's missing!

Ring Sizing FAQS

While we can resize most rings, it's always best to get the size right from the start. Some designs, particularly those with intricate settings or eternity bands, can be challenging to resize. At Cushla Whiting, we offer one complimentary resize for engagement rings within two months of purchase to ensure the perfect fit.

If you're planning a surprise, try these discrete methods:

  1. "Borrow" a ring they already wear and use our printable sizer.
  2. Enlist the help of their friends or family to casually bring up ring sizes in conversation.
  3. Trace the inside of a ring she wears on paper and bring it to us.

Remember, it's better to err on the side of slightly too large – we can always resize down if needed!

While home measurements can be a good starting point, they're not always 100% accurate. Factors like the measuring tool used and how tightly you wrap it can affect the result. For the most precise fit, especially for significant purchases like engagement rings, we recommend a professional sizing.

Absolutely! Our experienced jewellers use professional tools and techniques to ensure the most accurate sizing. Plus, we can advise on factors you might not have considered, like how different ring styles can affect the fit.

Generally, we can resize a ring up or down by about two sizes. However, this can vary depending on the ring's design and materials. Some of our designs have specific resize limits to maintain their integrity. Always consult with us about resizing options before making any alterations.
